Technology continues to make significant progress when it comes to improvements and advancements. New technologies get adopted by various industries and businesses alike, in order to boost the effectiveness and overall performance. Various new technologies get adopted quickly. Companies try to adapt to new tech as fast as possible, in order to be the first that will get the advantage on the market, before competitors manage to catch up.

That includes adopting modern print technology as well. Many companies leverage printing to some degree. Some use it to print out promotional materials, while others base their entire business operations on printing services. Thanks to modern technology, even printing is no longer what it used to be a few years back. That being said, here are a few ways modern print technology can help your business.

A step forward

There’s no company that doesn’t utilize a printer or two in its work environment. Even with all the digital stuff and paperless offices, many businesses still print out documents, sheets, files and other things. Printers require new cartridges ever so often which is expensive and creates a lot of waste material. Not only that, but printing software is also oftentimes buggy, demanding magenta color, in order to print black and white. Frustrating isn’t it? The fact of the matter is that printing technology is making a step forward, especially when it comes to convenience and efficiency.

Nowadays, more powerful inkjet printers are replacing offset printing methods and new devices are more capable and more reliable when it comes to printing service. A good example is that professional inkjet printer can easily render 4,000 words per minute, as well as process images and other graphical details. Not only that, but managed printing appearing as a cloud-based service now allows business to choose printing services that will match their needs.

Redefining promotional printed materials

A lot of companies leverage printing services to produce marketing material and promotional items. Branded merchandise is one of the oldest means of traditional marketing that’s still being used today due to its inherited effectiveness. As a matter of fact, companies in the U.S. alone spend well over $20 billion annually on branded merchandise. Nowadays, new printing technology has the potential to redefine how printed promotional items are created.

For example, printed T-shirts and other garments are always meaningful items that can be given to either customers or employees. However, printing visuals on dark garments has always been a difficult challenge because of their receiving properties. Still, with the newest laser transfer paper technology, printing on garments is now easier than ever and companies can mass-produce promotional items as they see fit. Not only that, but companies can implement creativity to form any design, without worrying about it not turning out as expected.

New printing innovations

As technology advances, businesses have an opportunity to leverage newest innovations. As far as printing goes, technology has made room for some significant improvements. New printing technologies and services are now available to businesses, opening new doors for more opportunities. When it comes to using modern technology to improve printing efficiency, the printing industry wasn’t holding back. For example, one of the latest trends in printing industry is water printing.

Water-based ink provides an eco-friendlier solution, as well as the opportunity to print graphics on rigid media, such as wood, while also maintaining the excellent quality of color and detail. Not only that, but printing technology went as far as using nanotechnology, also called nanography. Although relatively new, this technology can prove to be revolutionizing in the printing industry by introducing nanotechnology into printing services.

Going 3D

The fact that technology has made quite a progress, even in the printing industry, is proven by printing no longer being restricted to paper and 2D surfaces only. Nowadays, 3D printing is the newest tech that keeps evolving as time goes by. Not only does 3D printing require no cartridges or ink, but it can also be used in manufacturing as well.

In other words, using only the materials you want, a 3D printer creates three-dimensional products by adding layers on top of each other. That means that there’s no need for ink or toners. The fact that 3D print technology is generating quite a buzz in the business world proves that this technology will continue to advance further. Even now, 3D printing is being used to manufacture prosthetic limbs. Not only that, but NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) is considering using 3D printed materials for space exploration.

Technological advancements are implemented in all sectors across various industries. Nowadays, companies can rely on technology to improve every aspect of their business operations. From printing services to using artificial intelligence, technology continues to reshape how companies and even entire industries operate.
